Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open Borrowly and sign in.
- Go to Settings, scroll to Danger Zone, and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. If deletion succeeds, you are signed out.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can’t open the app, email useborrowly@gmail.com from the email address on your Borrowly account, with the subject Delete my Borrowly account. We will verify the request comes from the account owner, delete the account within 30 days, and confirm by email.
What is deleted
When deletion succeeds, we remove:
- Your sign-in account and profile.
- Item loans and money loans you created, including notes, due dates, borrower details you entered, and payment records.
- Item photos stored for your account.
- Reminder records stored for your account. On a successful in-app deletion, scheduled reminders on that device are cancelled.
If deletion does not finish, or anything from your account is still there, email useborrowly@gmail.com and we will remove it.
What may be kept
- Loans another person created, including ones where you were the borrower, stay in that person’s account.
- Copies in our database provider’s routine backups may remain until those backups expire.
- Photos already sent for optional AI item recognition were processed to produce a suggestion. How that works is described in our Privacy Policy.
- An Android waitlist email, if you joined the website waitlist, is stored separately. Email us to remove it.
Deleting your account does not cancel or refund an App Store or Google Play purchase. Manage purchases in your Apple or Google account settings.
Delete individual loans without deleting your account
You can delete an individual item loan in the app from its loan screen. A money loan saved to your account is not deleted from that screen. For other partial-deletion requests, email useborrowly@gmail.com.
