How Borrowly works

Snap a photo, let AI suggest the details, pick a borrower from Contacts, and open a prefilled message in Apple Messages. Track item and money loans in the Loans tab — with search, reminders, Mark Returned, edit, and delete when you need them.

FAQ

Does Borrowly send SMS automatically?

No. Borrowly opens Apple Messages with a draft. You choose when to tap Send.

Can I turn off AI recognition?

Yes. Open Settings in the app and disable AI recognition anytime.

Where is my data stored?

On your device and in the cloud project configured for your Borrowly build. We don’t sell personal data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I mark an item returned?

Open the loan in Loans, then tap Mark Returned. You can also edit or delete the loan from that screen.

Can Borrowly track money loans?

Yes. Create a money loan from New Loan, track remaining balances, and log partial repayments as money comes back.

Does AI work without my Mac?

Yes. Production AI recognition runs on Borrowly’s backend over Wi‑Fi or cellular. You can turn AI off in Settings anytime.

Camera or Contacts permission is off

Go to iOS Settings → Borrowly and enable Camera or Contacts, then return to the app.
